Cancer, it's still such a stigmatic word. That's because we immediately associate it with so many negative things, namely our mortality. But, is it such a terrible thing to be reminded that our time here is limited? Because of cancer, I cherish deeply every moment I have, and personally, I believe that is how we were intended to live our days, whatever they may bring. Relish in the good and have faith that great things come from great challenges.
Having gone through the experience, I've discovered the great side of cancer, and that's what I'm here to relate. I didn't know it takes such a great community to get through this, but it does. It's made up of family, friends, amazing doctors, nurses and technicians, mental health counselors, but also all of the courageous cansurviors whose stories gave me the inspiration and determination to make it through treatment. Through this site I pay homage to them. I participate in a support group and I continue to meet heroes every day.
